Is was close to Halloween 2023, and I was trying to come up with a fun costume. Because of my passion for producing music my costumes are usually music themed, and having been producing music for close to a decade I had the thought “Man, I should make a beat and see if I can get people at this Halloween party to sing on it.” And thus I would “Pop-Up” a music production studio very much like a popup kitchen. Realizing I could actually do this very well using specialized field equipment, the thought occurred to me to basically turn my self into a walking mobile music studio, and from there the it started to snowball. What if I filmed it? What if I did so with a really nice camera? What if I rigged everything together and finished the production before I even left the venue? This is the type of stuff I live for…

Music and art have always been passions of mine and realizing creative visions has been my ongoing drive ever since I was a young man. Over the years I’ve written many songs, produced records for bands, podcasts for public radio, as well as created drawings, artwork, photos and videos. While the goal is to keep things fun and interesting, I also strive for the best technical quality that is attainable with my resources and skill set.

In a way, Pop-Up Producer is a rebellion against traditional media production. It poses the question: “How far can you push modern tools in creating fresh content?” And I suppose my answer to that question is the content that I’m creating. If you can dream it, then you can make it happen.
